QUEEN VICTORIA

A fountain sparkles behind a statue of Queen Victoria, for whom this city is named. Both stand on the front lawn of the British Columbia Legislature and I shot this pic Wednesday morning, when I rode my bike downtown and wandered around with my camera. It was a beautiful spring day and one could feel as well as see people smiling.
A POP PRINCESS
The parking area at the Memorial Center here in Victoria was full of the accoutrements of a travelling rock show this afternoon. Although young Avril Lavigne was no where in sight, I did get this image from one of her tour buses. The singing star from small town Canada has been here for a few days rehearsing for the start of her world tour, which is underway as I write this.
I did my income tax stuff today, it took about an hour, mine is totally straight forward and the process is fairly simple. Tomorrow morning, I'll file by telephone, which will take about fifteen minutes, and in about two weeks my refund will show up in my bank account. Some progress actually does make life easier.
